In Memory of
Robert C. Newton

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Robert C. Newton, 75, who passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 in the Country Club Retirement Community.

Robert was born March 7, 1945 in Dover and was a son of the late Robert and Della Boyd Newton.  Robert retired in 2017 from Kent State University Tuscarawas after more than 35 years as an Art History Professor.  In 2014, he was awarded the Tuscarawas County University Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching.  He also attended Bisel United Methodist Church in Dover.

Robert is survived by his wife, Betty Watson Newton whom he married on May 21, 1985; sons, David Newton of Columbus, Derk (Katherine) Newton of Dennison; sister, Karlie King of Columbus; grandchildren, Zoe Newton-Rummell and Gwen Rummell.

An OPN member for many years, Bob will always be remembered for his gift of woodworking and especially his great generosity to make and donate plaques and various gifts which were given away to speakers and special friends at our conferences and other events.
