Nelson Henry Sommers, 73, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away June 2, 2025. Preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Barbara and brother Floyd, he was raised in a large loving home in Hartville with ten siblings. Caroline, Bill (Katherine), Ruth (Paul) Miller, Ed, Marty (Ray) Troyer, Sharon Lam, Gaylan (Melody), Laverne (Leona), David (Melodie). He leaves his wife of 40 years, Becky, his three daughters Olivia, Caroline, and Victoria (Cody) Woodley, and precious granddaughter Ivy Rose, plus a beloved grandchild to be coming later this year. He also leaves his brothers and sisters-in-law Don (Jackie) Stevens, Cindy (John) Kelly, Barb (Randy) McCrady and many loved nieces and nephews.

Nelson was a man of great faith that never wavered. His life was full of challenges due to post-polio disabilities which took their toll, but he accepted those challenges and lived a happy life with his loving family. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with his daughters in church. He loved his dogs and watched over them. After retirement, he worked part time at Lowe’s and used his immense knowledge of DIY to help people. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Nelson knows he loved and cared about everyone he met. He could put a smile on anyone’s face.

We welcome all friends and family to attend a celebration of life service that will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church at 12:00PM on Saturday, June 7th. (104 Portage Tr Ext, Cuy Falls 44223). A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service for all friends and family.
