Marie Gessler, 85, passed away Monday, January 4, 2015 and the funeral was held on Friday, January 9, 2015. She was born in Wehrum, PA and lived in Stow, OH from 1968-2008 and was a long time member of the Stow Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star. Marie found enjoyment in traveling, oil painted and playing cards with her family. Preceded in death by her husband Donald in 1992, she is survived by daughters Patricia Gessler, Cynthia Schrirra and Lisa Gessler, son Robert (Catherine) Gessler and grandchildren Kevin Gessler, Marianne (Brett) Salyer, Jeremy (Christy) Steven, Christopher and Andrew Schirra. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stow Presbyterian Church, 4150 Fishcreek Road, Stow, OH 44224.

We remember Marie so fondly. She was a quiet and kind person and was quite active in the beginning years of the Akron Post-Polio Support Group. However, due to poor health, she moved to Columbus, OH for care but did remain a member of our support group and stayed in touch. We will miss her very much. Our thoughts and prayers continue for her family and loved ones.
